Valencia Strong on Sports Tourism

Valencia is growing in the Sporting Calendar creating its place well in the Sports Tourism Market. The Americas Cup was the starting point, holding the most successful challenge in the more than 100 year history of the prestigious sailing event. We are still hoping on the return in February 2010 of the 33rd Americas Cup. Valencia also hit spectacularly in the world of motorsport, already a success with the World MotoGP and now with its custom designed Marina Street Circuit, home to the European Formula 1 Grand Prix. 2009 has seen the first editions of the Equestrian World Championships and just completed the Valencia Open 500 Tennis tournament, won by Britains Andy Murray.
Valencia understands the importance the importance of Sports in the Toursm Industry and is certainly making itself a well respected venue and the place to be!

Visiting the city of Valencia during the month of September is a delight. Temperatures are softened and you can wander without rest and discover the corners of its old town, marvel at the stunning, cutting-edge City of Arts and Sciences, visit the museums or relax in the sun on its long and beautiful beaches. In addition, Valencia Bioparc safari take you to Africa without leaving the city, a spectacular animal habitat gathered in a park that recreated the African Savanna, Madagascar and Equatorial Africa where more than 250 species live.

The circuit is ready, the stands are in place and the atmosphere is building. The Valencia Beach Park is open offering various entertainment and stalls and today, Fernando Alonso opened the Motorbox Experience. All is go!

The weather is gorgeous with clear blue skies and the temperature well into the 30´s. The good news that Renault have had there ban lifted and Fernando Alonso will be racing has helped boost the ticket sales once again.
